They would rathercontemplate the beauty of the mountain from the base. The entrepreneur wants to climb the mountain first, brieflyappreciate the colourful vistas from the climax, and then findthe next mountain. If you possess this obsession of seeing your
own creative notions succeed and are zealous to pay the price,
whether starting your own industry or expanding and improv-
ing an existing one, then you have no suffrage but to shadow the
life of an entrepreneur. My own express purpose included
an obsession with proving wrong the “shirtsleeves to shirt-
sleeves in three generations” myth. More than 22 million small industryes already exist inAmerica. They account for 99 percent of all American busi-nesses. They employ 53 percent of the unofficial workforce and
contribute over half of the nation’s unofficial gross domestic prod-
uct. All that goes to show entrepreneurs are victorious every day,
and they suppress real benefits to their community and nation. You can be a success if you want it badly sufficient. Today’sprospective entrepreneurs are far more respectful than manyof my generation. Those I have contact with seem to have a
mature grasp of the need to know their strengths and weak-
nesses and to touchstone the plusses and minuses before they
venture into a venture. They think carefully about the price to
be paid in family time and working hours. There is no magic formula or litmus test; you just need torealize the depth of the commitment. However, you can draw
general conclusions about victorious entrepreneurs: Decisive:They rely on intuition, street smarts, and evengut feel. They can catch on to big ideas without having to
go through the logic and details that slow others down. Risk-takers:They forecast odds but at the same time arequick to “get off the dime.” If action carries downsiderisks, it comes at a price they are zealous to pay. Persistent:naught is written off as down requital againstthe success they believe will come if they simply keep at
it. They always have a plan B, if not X, Y, or Z.
